Diamond Aircraft's brand-new DA62 piston-twin is sparkling on the static display, fresh from demonstration tour of the Middle East, which included flights in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar.
With capacity for five to seven people including the pilots, depending on the configuration, Diamond sees an opportunity for the type as a private aircraft for personal use or as an air taxi.

European Aviation Safety Agency certification for this €960,000 ($1.07 million), 1,300nm-range (2,430km) version was secured at the AeroFriedrichshafen business and general aviation show in April.
The DA62 is on the static line along with two siblings, a DA40 used as a trainer aircraft by Saudi Aviation Flight Academy, and a DA42 Multi-Purpose Platform (MPP).
Though the DA42 has appeared at the Dubai show previously, this is the first time it has been kitted out in the MPP configuration, which includes an electro-optical/infrared sensor as well as a maritime radar.
