The keynote speaker for this week’s Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (ABACE) will be Dr. Fang Liu, secretary general of ICAO. Dr. Liu is the first female ICAO secretary general and previously worked with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). She will address the ABACE opening general session at 10 am. on April 12.
While working with CAAC, Liu was responsible for China’s international air transport policy, regulations and the country’s bilateral and multilateral relations. She worked alongside international and regional organizations such as ICAO, the World Trade Organization, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Liu then served eight years as the director of ICAO’s Bureau of Administration and Services before being appointed secretary general.
“We are honored to have Dr. Liu speak at ABACE 2016,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “In addition to listening to her valuable perspectives regarding matters affecting the global aviation community, Dr. Liu’s extensive knowledge about the evolving role of civil aviation across China and the broader Asian community will also provide ABACE attendees with important insights on the emerging role of business aviation in the region.”
