At the end of April the ENGINEERING Holding’s aircraft painting division returned a fully repainted Boeing 757-200 to the Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana.
The project was a milestone for both partners. The paint shop of the S7 ENGINEERING (part of the Engineering Holding) at Mineralnye Vody Airport served its first international customer. Whereas Kazakhstan’s leading airline has never before placed a panting order with a Russian provider with aircraft painting. S7 ENGINEERING won a tender conducted by Air Astana.
The ENGINEERING Holding’s painting division in Mineralnye Vody applied the state-of-the art base coat / clear coat system Aerodur 3001/3002 developed by Dutch company Akzo Nobel, the world’s leader in production of paints.
It was the first time the ENGINEERING Holding’s painting division used the Aerodur 3001/3002, so to ensure the work is done to the highest standards the S7 ENGINEERING’s painting team underwent an additional training conducted by Akzo Nobel experts.
“Our choice of aircraft MRO provider is defined by the criteria of reasonable price, terms, quality and warranty terms. The current project demonstrated that we can well continue our cooperation with the ENGINEERING Holding,” a spokesperson for Air Astana commented on the results of their first experience of painting an aircraft in Russia.
