Lufthansa Technik AG has chosen Starburst to develop and strengthen ties with innovative start-ups in the aerospace sector. Having access to a start-up pool with aerospace focus of at least 150 start-ups in Europe as well as 100 start-ups in the US, Starburst covers a wide range of potential future collaborations with start-ups.

In addition to its established partnerships with universities, research institutes, SMEs, OEMs and aircraft manufacturers, Lufthansa Technik is working toward a strong presence in the start-up arena in several predefined technical search fields as part of its Open Innovation Network. Those collaborations can take all forms imaginable: from a simple inspiration by new technologies (market watch) to a complete buy-in, everything is possible.

Dr. Helge Sachs, Head of Corporate Innovation Management and Product Development of Lufthansa Technik: “Starburst helps Lufthansa Technik
as well as Lufthansa Group to cooperate with start-ups in the aviation industry in the local, european and global Innovation ecosystems.”

“We are very happy to welcome Lufthansa Technik in our Starburst ecosystem as we think our start-ups will find various applications within the product devisions of Lufthansa Technik and together they can create real value-added innovations,” says François Chopard, Founder of Starburst.

A first example of this fruitful collaboration was shown at the InnovationDays on June 14th and 15th, where six carefully selected
start-ups will pitch their projects to all the Lufthansa Technik community.

As a pioneer of innovation in its field, Lufthansa Technik will succeed with the help of Starburst conducting even more outside-in innovations to enrich their portfolio.
