Lufthansa Technik and Air Philippines Corporation, operating as PAL express (PALex), recently signed a long-term agreement in Manila regarding the supply of components for the airline’s entire Airbus A320 fleet. The service package includes component MRO, along with access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare parts pool and a homebase stock at PALex’s premises in the Philippines.

PALex President Rabbi Vincent Ang commented: “We are confident that Lufthansa Technik’s comprehensive component support system will help us maintain operational excellence as we continue to grow and serve our passengers. With its world-class component maintenance, repair and overhaul services, PAL express stands poised to deliver even greater reliability and efficiency to our passengers. The availability of spare parts at our Manila base, backed by access to Lufthansa Technik’s vast pool facilities in Hong Kong, Singapore, Hamburg and Frankfurt, ensures that aircraft are serviced promptly and kept flying.”

Jens Michel, Vice President Corporate Sales North East Asia at Lufthansa Technik, stated: “We are delighted that PAL express is strengthening its commitment to Lufthansa Technik by choosing us once again—this time to provide component support for their A320s. Leveraging our worldwide network of materials and spare parts pools, we remain committed to delivering outstanding services. As PAL express continues to grow and expand its operations, we are excited to contribute to their success and further enhance our partnership. We look forward to reaching new heights together.”

By offering domestic and short-haul international flights, PALex expands accessibility to key destinations and serves as the domestic and regional arm of Philippine Airlines. For many years, Philippine Airlines has shared a close partnership with Lufthansa Technik, which has continuously strengthened over time. Now, PALex is also expanding its collaboration with the provider of technical aircraft services. Just a few days ago, the airline signed an agreement with Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey for MRO services on PW150 engines that power the airline’s De Havilland Canada Dash aircraft operating regional routes across the Philippines.
