Rolls-Royce is introducing a new SelectCare option, SelectCare Repair, to complement its existing range of Care services for airlines that operate Trent 700 powered Airbus A330 aircraft. This expansion of our services portfolio brings greater choice for our customers and means that there are now two distinct SelectCare service options available:

SelectCare Repair

Even the most reliable engines can require shop visits in between scheduled refurbishments, driven by ingestion of foreign objects or component failure. Our new SelectCare Repair service option covers these “check and repair” shop visits for a dollar-per-engine-flying-hour fee. There’s no cap on the number of qualifying shop visits or the cost of any individual shop visit so customers enjoy a high degree of cost certainty.

SelectCare Refurb

This service option provides customers with cost predictability for the major scheduled engine shop visit events that typically occur every 4-5 years.

SelectCare Repair and SelectCare Refurb are complementary services. Customers may choose to take both service options together or choose one service option only and manage their remaining engine shop visits on a traditional time and material basis.

Rolls-Royce has pioneered a broad and flexible range of services to meet the needs of all our customers. Many of our airline customers choose TotalCare®, our integrated suite of services that includes full risk transfer of off-wing maintenance costs with a power-by-the-hour payment agreement.

Our Foundation Services offer choices for customers who wish to manage their own engine maintenance without long-term service agreements or risk transfer. However, for those customers that prefer increased flexibility in the management of their engines whilst retaining a degree of cost certainty, our SelectCare services bridge the gap between TotalCare and Foundation Services.

Dominic Horwood, Services Director, Civil Aerospace Rolls-Royce, said: “By adding SelectCare Repair to our existing portfolio of services options in our CareStore, we are pleased to offer our customers further flexibility in how they choose to maintain their engines while enjoying a high degree of cost certainty. At a time when the aviation landscape is constantly evolving, we believe SelectCare Repair and SelectCare Refurb will give our customers the agility to react to their engine maintenance demands and tailor their refurbishment regime to meet their individual needs.”

SelectCare Repair is available now for our Trent 700 customers.
