Rotortrade has been officially certified to perform maintenance operations on AW139 helicopters. The certification, granted by the EASA / OSAC, is effective as of March 2025 and enables Rotortrade’s European Maintenance Center in Tallard to immediately begin work on the widely used twin-engine aircraft. This development is part of Rotortrade’s broader investment into technical capabilities and infrastructure. Following the launch of its MRO facility in 2024, Rotortrade secured Part 145 ESEA certifications for EC120 and H125 helicopters in August 2024, and subsequently for the H145 model in November 2024. The addition of the AW139 further strengthens Rotortrade’s ability to serve operators of both Airbus and Leonardo helicopters.
Located in Tallard, Southern Part of French Alps, Rotortrade’s European Maintenance Center is a 1,800m² facility capable of hosting up to eight helicopters simultaneously. Since opening in August 2024, the site has become a key part of Rotortrade’s long-term strategy to provide in-house maintenance, completion, and customization services. With a team of 20 full-time technicians already in place and ongoing plans for expansion, the center is positioned to meet increasing demand for specialised helicopter support across the region and worldwide.
The AW139 certification allows Rotortrade to offer its worldwide customers scheduled inspections, maintenance, upgrades, and mission-specific modifications. Rotortrade expects to receive its first two AW139 aircraft for servicing ahead of summer 2025.
Philippe Lubrano, CEO of Rotortrade commented: “Expanding our scope to include the AW139 is a significant step in the growth of our MRO capabilities. This enables us to offer more comprehensive support to our clients and better respond to the operational needs of AW139 operators in Europe and beyond.”
Rotortrade currently holds CAMO capabilities for the following Airbus and Leonardo Helicopters: AW109, AW139, EC135, H160, H225, H145, H125, H130. Rotortrade’s approach continues to focus on practical expansion of services that respond to market demand, while maintaining a clear vision for enhancing long-term support for rotorcraft operators globally.
