Following the completion of the T5 test, 15 pilots, including the flight instructor from SACSC, received C919 aircraft model certificates, marking the milestone that C919 aircraft is about to be delivered and put into commercial operation. The T5 test, known as the model level training standard test of the Flight Standard Board, is a critical task evaluating the compliance of a new aircraft type (AEG evaluation), and also a comprehensive inspection of both the type design and manufacturer’s system. The first batch of pilots, flight instructors and CAAC inspectors of new-model aircraft can receive model certificates after passing the T5 test, which is of great significance to the delivery and operation of new-model aircraft and subsequent flight safety.

After T5 test summary, Department of Flight Standard, CAAC issued the C919 evaluation report (AEG report) to COMAC, stipulating pilot qualification, maintenance personnel qualification, main minimum equipment list, maintenance requirements, operation and continuous airworthiness documents among other things. The conclusions in the report build a bridge from design and manufacturing to operation and maintenance for domestically developed large aircraft, which is essential for the commercial operation of C919.

In order to better evaluate the compliance of C919, the evaluation has been carried out simultaneously with its airworthiness certification since 2016. And four evaluation projects - pilot qualification, main minimum equipment list, maintenance requirements, and full emergency evacuation demonstration were jointly carried out by CAAC, the Civil Aviation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

Following this meeting, East Regional Administration of CAAC issued the Flight Training Organization Certificate and the Maintenance Training Organization Certificate to SACSC, marking that COMAC is officially capable of providing complete training services for customers of C919 aircraft.
