Daher Aircraft Division is showcasing its turboprop-powered aircraft product line at the 2023 EAA AirVenture fly-in, bringing the Kodiak 100, Kodiak 900 and TBM 960 all together for the first time equipped with five-blade composite propellers from Hartzell Propeller. Debuting at this year’s EAA AirVenture is the Kodiak 100 with Hartzell five-blade composite propeller that is integrated with the aircraft’s Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-34 turboprop engine. The new propeller configuration is 6.3 dB quieter and 13 lbs. lighter than the current four-blade metal propeller configuration, and it reduces the aircraft’s takeoff roll by six percent at maximum gross weight.

Hartzell tailored the new 96-inch-diameter propeller for its application on the Kodiak 100, and incorporated the company’s lightweight Raptor hub technology. The 96-inch-diameter propeller has a ground clearance of 19 inches – retaining the Kodiak 100’s ability to operate from unprepared strips and when outfitted with floats. Also exhibited at EAA AirVenture is the latest Kodiak version: the Kodiak 900, equipped with Hartzell five-blade composite propeller and powered by the PT6A-140A turboprop engine. Inheriting the Kodiak 100’s remarkable qualities as a backcountry STOL and multi-role airplane, the Kodiak 900 marks a further step with its fuselage length extension of 3.9 feet to provide more passenger room and cargo space, along with a cruise speed increase to 210 KTAS, and a greater useful load while offering a maximum range of 1,129 nm.

Completing Daher product lineup displayed at EAA AirVenture is the TBM 960. This newest member of the TBM 900-series aircraft family benefits from the increased application of digital technology, incorporating the advanced PT6E-66XT engine and a fully digital e-throttle, along with a digitally-controlled cabin that incorporates an all-new environmental control system, LED ambience lighting and electrically-dimmable windows.

During EAA AirVenture, Daher also is highlighting the company support for the Recreational Aviation Foundation – a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve “backcountry” strips across the United States. As part of this support, Daher assisted RAF by providing a Kodiak aircraft and volunteer pilots to carry U.S. Forest Service personnel, along with building and support materials, to two of this federal agency’s grass strips in the mountains of southeastern Idaho.

Another focus of Daher at EAA AirVenture is the latest adaptation of its Me & My TBM application, Version 6.  This new iteration of the cloud-based app for Android and iOS devices processes additional flight parameters – such as flaps and speed at touchdown, and new computations (oxygen pressure in the cabin, C02 emissions, initial climb and vertical speed).
