Diamond Aircraft announced the sale of a DA50 RG aircraft to Air Wilderness, a leading Kenya-based Air Operating Company. Air Wilderness now becomes Africa’s first AOC to operate Diamond Aircraft’s premium single-engine aircraft model. Air Wilderness offers scenic flights across northern and central Kenya from its base at Lewa Wilderness airstrip. As Diamond Aircraft’s sales agent in Kenya and as the owner-operator of the first DA50 RG on the continent, Air Wilderness successfully validated the DA50 type certificate with the Kenyan authorities, paving the way for future DA50 pilots in the country.
Jane Wang, newly appointed Assistant CEO Diamond Aircraft commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Air Wilderness to the Diamond family. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our growing presence across Africa, and reflect the region’s increasing demand for modern, efficient, and safe aviation solutions.”
Darryl Van Dyk, Managing Director of Air Wilderness stated: “We’re excited to bring the DA50 RG into our fleet. The aircraft’s combination of comfort, capability, and efficiency will elevate the guest experience and allow us to explore Kenya’s wild beauty like never before!”
DA50 RG, with its spacious five-seat cabin, retractable gear, and powerful 300hp jet-fuel engine, is ideally suited for air tourism in the African bush. Its rugged performance, long range, and luxurious interior make it a perfect match for high-end safari operations.
