Gulfstream G500 has earned the 2019 Flying Innovation Award!

The honor, given by Flying magazine to “the most innovative product to have reached the general aviation market in the previous year,” was revealed on the opening day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in Wisconsin.

“Innovation sets the foundation for flight and has been the bedrock of our culture from the beginning,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “Whether we are making advancements in flight-deck safety, aircraft performance or cabin comfort, every member of the Gulfstream team is constantly looking for what we can do to push the state of the art and advance the field of aviation. Gulfstream is proud to bring revolutionary products to market and honored to be recognized with the 2019 Flying Innovation Award.”

The G500 represents a new generation of innovation in the business-jet industry. Its Symmetry Flight DeckTM provides new safety enhancements, including the first electronically linked active control sidesticks in civil aviation and the most extensive use of touch screens. The cabin features advanced ergonomics and aesthetics that can be tailored to customers’ design preferences and mission requirements. In addition, the G500 features customized furnishings, a healthy cabin environment and 14 Gulfstream panoramic oval windows.

The G500 entered service in September 2018 and can travel 5,200 nautical miles/9,630 kilometers at Mach 0.85 and 4,400 nm/8,149 km at Mach 0.90. Its maximum operating speed is Mach 0.925.
