HALO-Flight is set to further expand its South Texas air medical capabilities following the order of an additional Bell 407GXi announced by Bell Textron at AMTC 2026. The new aircraft will bring the operator’s fleet to seven IFR-equipped Bell 407GXi helicopters, enhancing reliability, coverage, and the rapid response capabilities required for critical patient transport missions.
Lane Evans, managing director, North America, Bell commented: “HALO-Flight’s work across South Texas calls for reliable, high-performing aircraftl. We are proud to support their mission with our aircraft built around reliability, safety and performance. The Bell 407GXi provides the power and safety that air medical crews count on every day.”
Travis Patterson, CEO, HALO-Flight stated: "Bell has been a trusted friend, mentor and business partner to HALO-Flight for decades. As we enter our 40th year of service and continue growing to meet the needs of South Texas, we’re grateful to continue that relationship with a fellow Texas organization that has supported our mission and helped keep HALO-Flight flying for generations."
As a nonprofit air medical operator, HALO-Flight provides around-the-clock emergency transport services to communities throughout South Texas, ensuring access to critical care regardless of a patient's ability to pay. Covering 23 counties and nearly 24,000 square miles, the organisation plays a vital role in connecting patients with urgent medical treatment through rapid-response scene calls and interfacility transfers.
Supporting these missions is the Bell 407GXi, a helicopter widely recognised for its performance, reliability and advanced cockpit technology. Featuring Garmin's G1000H NXi integrated avionics suite, the aircraft delivers enhanced situational awareness, IFR capability and improved operational efficiency, allowing crews to safely conduct time-critical medical missions in demanding environments.
