Liebherr-Aerospace has signed a long-term service agreement in Japan: The Original Equipment Manufacturer will cover the overhaul of the landing gear systems of the 10 Embraer E170 family aircraft from Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA).

Fuji Dream Airlines, with its main bases in Shizuoka and Nagoya, is an independent regional Japanese carrier who started their operations in July 2009. Today they are offering daily flights to 17 domestic destinations in Japan. In order to safeguard continuous operation of their Embraer E170 fleet, Fuji Dream and Liebherr-Aerospace have recently reached an agreement covering the overhaul of the main and nose landing gear systems of the airline’s Embraer E-Jet E170 family fleet.

This new contract highlights the continuous momentum of progress in extending Liebherr-Aerospace’s support services in Asia-Pacific. “In order to define the most appropriate landing gear overhaul program, optimized to the unique requirements of Fuji Dream Airlines, a customized solution was successfully agreed following close collaboration between the teams. We are very grateful, honored and looking forward to further strengthening our partnership with Fuji Dream Airlines”, commented Ekkehard Pracht, General Manager Aerospace of Liebherr-Singapore.

Takehiko Handa, General Manager Maintenance of Fuji Dream, emphasized: “We at Fuji Dream Airlines have been operating Liebherr’s E170 landing gears for a long time and are fully satisfied with the excellent quality of Liebherr’s products as well as their overhaul services.”

The complete landing gear system for the E-Jet family (E170/175, E190/195) was developed and manufactured by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH (Germany), Liebherr-Aerospace’s center of competence for flight control and landing gear systems.
