Bye Aerospace’s eFlyer 2 has completed its first flight powered by magniX’s Samson300 battery system, marking a significant step forward for electric flight training technology. Departing from Centennial Airport in Colorado, the milestone flight demonstrated the capabilities of magniX’s latest high-performance battery platform.
Designed specifically for demanding aviation applications, the Samson300 combines 300 Wh/kg energy density, more than 1,000 full-depth discharge cycles, and advanced safety features. The batteries can be integrated into a complete magniX electric propulsion system or deployed as a standalone solution for a variety of mission-critical applications.
The eFlyer 2 aims to redefine the economics of pilot training by lowering operating costs, eliminating in-flight emissions, and enabling rapid turnaround times through fast charging. With the aviation industry facing a growing need for new pilots, electric aircraft such as the eFlyer 2 could play an important role in making flight training more accessible, efficient, and sustainable.
Samson Batteries Lead on Performance and Reliability
