MTS Systems Corporation, a leading global supplier of high-performance test systems and position sensors, brought together members of the aerospace testing community last week at the Worldwide Aerospace Users' Group meeting in Wichita, KS.

Held at the prestigious National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT), the two-day event provided a forum for attendees to learn about the latest techniques and technologies for aerospace structural and materials testing, as well as exchange ideas with industry peers. Attendees also had the opportunity to share their knowledge with the engineers that influence the development of MTS hardware and software, and to take a tour of the extensive structural and materials research facilities of the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) at Wichita State University.

"We highly value our relationship with MTS and the opportunity to collaborate on this significant event," said NIAR executive directorJohn Tomblin. "It provided an optimal setting for us to meet with engineers working on similar projects and we were able to identify multiple opportunities for future collaboration with attendees."

The MTS Worldwide Aerospace Users' Group Meeting is held every three years. The 2015 event, which included presentations from both industry-leading manufacturers and MTS testing experts, took place early in September and attracted aerospace engineering professionals from Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Turkey and the USA.

"Advances in aircraft manufacturing continues to evolve with new structures and composite materials being employed, as well as greater emphasis on improving fuel efficiency and increasing safety levels. These advancements set numerous challenges for aerospace testing," says Dr. Jeffrey Graves, Chief Executive Officer and President of MTS. "The MTS Worldwide Aerospace Users' Group Meeting is an exciting and engaging forum for collaborative interaction among industry experts to discuss their challenges and accomplishments, and to learn of industry advances from their colleagues."
