The Russian Defense Ministry will receive six Mil Mi-8AMTSh choppers and three Mi-8AMTSh-VA 'Terminator' military and transport helicopters for Arctic operation this year, Ulan-Ude Aviation Enterprise Managing Director Leonid Belykh said on Friday.
"Under the state defense contracts that have been signed, three Mi-8 helicopters are planned for delivery in 2016 and two in 2017 for Arctic application," he said on Single Military Output Acceptance Day.
The Ulan-Ude Aviation enterprise has also manufactured and delivered eight Mi-8AMTSh military and transport helicopters to the Defense Ministry ahead of schedule this year under state defense contracts, he added.
"Another six helicopters of this type will be delivered until the end of the year," he said.
The Ulan-Ude Aviation Enterprise has also manufactured and started acceptance tests of two Mi-8AMTSh-VA helicopters in the Arctic modification, he said.
