Russian Helicopters has delivered its first Kazan Helicopters Ansat rotorcraft this year to the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK). The rotorcraft, factory No 33072, comes in the medevac configuration and will be operated by Russian Helicopter Systems (RHS).
The operator expects to receive another five Ansats this year.
GTLK is to take delivery of 11 more medevac-equipped Ansats from Russian Helicopters in 2018 as part of a contract signed late last year. Three of the rotorcraft are meant for SKOL Airlines. The agreement is a part of the federal program to develop medevac aviation in the country. A spokesperson for Russian Helicopters notes that the company expects to deliver all of the rotorcraft to GTKL in the first half of 2018. The latter, in turn, is to transfer the helicopters to regional airlines by the end of the year.
GTLK will receive a total of 31 helicopters. Last year, Russian Helicopters delivered 29 medevac rotorcraft to the lessor (including six Ansats).
The first Ansat medevac helicopter was ordered by Tatarstan’s Health Ministry. RHS is the largest civil operator with a fleet of five Ansats (including the newly delivered one; the previous delivery took place in October 2017). The company also operates a VIP version of the helicopter.
