Ever wondered what goes in to creating a faultless machine able to transport passengers and precious cargo, thousands of feet up in the air, across the globe?

It turns out the devil is in the detail which experts reassuringly craft into every aspect of building a jet plane.

In just four minutes a stunning timelapse video from flight company Norwegian, reveals the process and massive amount of work that goes into building an aircraft.

The process reveals just how much work goes into building such a large commercial aircraft.

Once the carrier’s livery is added, the plane’s parts, including its landing gear and wing flaps, are tested and it takes off on its first test flight.

The aircraft featured in the film will fly into Gatwick from New York's JFK airport for the first time on Wednesday, when it is used to serve Norwegian's direct low-cost flights from the UK to the US.

The new plane will ferry passengers between London, New York, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale.

The aircraft is 20 feet (6 meters) longer than the 787-8 Dreamliner that Norwegian already operates.

As of January 2016, 370 of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes had been built.
