Development of Il-114 passenger aircraft will cost United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) 19 billion rubles, but there is a demand for the airliner, UAC President Yuri Slusar said.
“Air carriers and the Ministry of Defense need Il-114 aircraft, UAC President Y.Slusar said at MAKS-2015 international airshow. – UAC is confident that this aircraft must be developed. Speaking of costs, works connected with “digitalization” of documentation, upgrade of the aircraft systems and equipment, and development of a new engine will cost around 11 billion rubles; 4 billion rubles will be spent on adapting the aircraft in order to use the new TV7-117 engine. Moreover, around 4 billion rubles are going to be spent on re-equipping enterprises involved in production of the aircraft, including manufacturer of the liner”.
“Of course the total costs for this program will be higher, because we didn’t include investments in development of an after-sales support network and support of the aircraft’s launch customers. The primary producer is being defined. Our short-list includes enterprises located in Kazan, Voronezh, Ulyanovsk and Nizhny Novgorod,” he added.
