UTC Aerospace Systems congratulates Airbus on the milestone of type certification for the A320neo from regulators in the United States and Europe. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Airbus reports orders for more than 4,300 A320neo aircraft from over 75 customers since its launch in 2010. UTC Aerospace Systems is a major supplier to the A320neo, providing numerous new systems for the re-engined aircraft, as well as a wide variety of content to its legacy platform.

"The A320neo is a key program for us and we are proud to support our valued customer Airbus as the airplane prepares to enter commercial service," said David Gitlin, president of UTC Aerospace Systems. "On behalf of our employees around the world, we look forward to the launch of the A320neo and its successful operation for many years to come."

UTC Aerospace Systems provides nacelles and thrust reversers for the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM -powered A320neo, the complete engine controls package, upgraded electrical generators, wheels and brakes, cabin attendant seating, air data sensors and heated floor panels.

The A320neo also carries UTC Aerospace Systems' flight control actuation system, passenger door dampers and cockpit controls, the emergency ram air turbine, cabin pressure and control systems, overheat detection system and cabin, cockpit and exterior lighting.

UTC Aerospace Systems designs, manufactures and services integrated systems and components for the aerospace and defense industries. UTC Aerospace Systems supports a global customer base, with significant worldwide manufacturing and customer service facilities.
