Aeroflot ready for privatization, but its usefulness is not obvious in 2016, told reporters the head of the Board of Directors Kirill Androsov at the Gaidar forum in 2016, organized by the Ranepa and the Gaidar Institute.
“Aeroflot is a joint stock company with listing on the Moscow exchange, with daily trading and with a large number of financial institutional investors, so no other additional readiness (privatization – approx. ed.), in my opinion, we don’t need. At any time when the government has a decision to decrease the share of state participation, it can occur in any of the forms, including through exchange distribution,” said Androsov.
According to him, the prospects of privatization of “Aeroflot” in 2016 depend on the desired effect. “If you (plan to achieve approx.) the effect of replenishment of the Treasury, credited to the Federal budget, with today’s assessment of “Aeroflot” it will not be visible digits, but the decision taken by the government. If we want to promote competition, the advent of the new owner against the preservation of “Aeroflot” in the configuration we have today, it is unlikely that in this direction something will change”, – said the head of the Board of Directors.
In his opinion, it is obvious that the buyer of the government stake in “Aeroflot” no.
““To say that today there are some pronounced ready buyer for a large package of “Aeroflot”, I would hardly have become, for me, it’s not obvious,” said Androsov.
