In June 2017, the Latvian airline airBaltic carried 372 219 passengers or 23% more than in the same period of 2016 and it is a new record number of carried passengers in June. During the first six months of 2017, airBaltic has transported a total of 1 565 462 passengers throughout its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.

airBaltic is experiencing substantial growth, and I am truly happy that we are beating records the company set more than five years ago. This proves that we are on the right track. In the first six months we recorded the second highest number of passengers in the airline’s history,” says airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss.

In the first half of the year airBaltic has operated 23 461 flights, which is 13% more than in the first half of 2016. In June, the airline performed 4 726 flights.

The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, was at 73.5% in the first six months of 2017 – and it is the highest in the airline’s history of over 20 years. The load factor in June was 83.1%, almost two percentage points up comparing to June 2016.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic reached a level of 88.7% in the first six months of 2017. This means that more than 88 of every 100 airBaltic flights departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes. The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator in June reached a level of 84.4%.
