airBaltic has been awarded Best Wi-Fi in Europe for 2026 by APEX – one of the world’s largest international airline associations. The award is based on passenger ratings from over one million flights across more than 600 airlines worldwide. This marks the fourth APEX award received by airBaltic. In 2023, the airline was awarded the APEX Passenger Choice Award for Best Cabin Service in Europe, recognizing its onboard service and hospitality.

Thomas Ramdahl, Chief Commercial Officer at airBaltic commented: “We are honoured to receive the 2026 APEX Best Wi-Fi in Europe award, particularly as the first European carrier to introduce free Starlink internet onboard. This recognition, based entirely on passenger feedback, is especially meaningful to us and reflects the strong response from our customers, many of whom highlight the convenience and reliability of the service. The presence of seamless onboard internet also encourages customers to choose flying with us again. On behalf of the entire airBaltic team, I would like to sincerely thank our passengers for their trust, as well as the APEX team for this global recognition. Our focus remains on further improving the passenger experience across every stage of the journey.”

Dr. Joe Leader, CEO of APEX Group praised: “airBaltic successfully scoring the win from its customer votes the 2026 APEX Best Wi-Fi in Europe award marks a defining moment for European inflight connectivity, where fast, free, intuitive internet has moved from passenger wish list to passenger expectation. airBaltic has shown the industry what bold execution looks like by pairing its modern Airbus A220-300 fleet with complimentary next-generation connectivity that passengers can use with ease onboard. This award recognizes more than bandwidth. It recognizes an airline that understands today’s travelers want the sky to feel as connected, productive, and personal as the ground. airBaltic has turned Wi-Fi into a brand promise, a competitive advantage, and a powerful new standard for the European passenger experience.”

Later on, airBaltic received the APEX Four Star Major Airline Award 2025, followed a year later by the APEX  Five Star Major Airline Award 2026, reflecting its continued improvement in overall passenger experience and service quality. airBaltic is the first European airline to offer free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet onboard its flights, launching the service in February 2025. airBaltic connects the Baltic States with more than 80 destinations across Europe and beyond, making travel easier, more accessible, and more convenient for customers across the region.
