Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), part of AZCON Holding, has taken delivery of another Airbus A321neo, increasing its fleet to 31 aircraft as the carrier continues its long-term modernisation strategy. The new-generation aircraft will support capacity growth across high-demand routes while enhancing operational efficiency. Its addition provides the airline with greater flexibility to optimise flight schedules and adapt to seasonal fluctuations in passenger demand.
Configured with Airbus' latest Airspace cabin, the A321neo offers passengers a modern travel experience, featuring an advanced inflight entertainment system, high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, spacious overhead storage compartments and customisable ambient lighting designed to improve comfort throughout the journey. Beyond the passenger experience, the aircraft delivers significant environmental benefits, consuming approximately 20% less fuel and generating around 20% lower carbon emissions per seat than previous-generation aircraft.

The latest delivery follows the arrival of Azerbaijan Airlines' first Airbus A321neo earlier this year. With the addition of this aircraft, the national carrier has now welcomed five new aircraft into its fleet in 2026, while a further two A321neos are scheduled for delivery before the end of the year.
The expansion forms part of Azerbaijan Airlines' broader fleet renewal and growth programme, aimed at increasing the share of next-generation aircraft, strengthening operational sustainability and supporting future passenger demand.
Under its long-term development strategy, the airline plans to expand its fleet to 50 aircraft by 2032. Alongside fleet growth, Azerbaijan Airlines is investing in network expansion, operational excellence, service enhancements and the continued professional development of its flight and technical personnel.
