Biman Bangladesh Airlines has signed a De Havilland Component Solutions Program agreement to support its fleet of five Dash 8-400 aircraft. The DCS Program will provide Biman Bangladesh Airlines with comprehensive component MRO services and access to a strategically located spare part exchange pool.

Leighton Storsley, De Havilland Canada Vice-President, Aftermarket and Business Development, commented: “Our highly customizable DCS Program continues to be the leader in power-by-the-hour solutions for the Dash 8-400 fleet and is designed to allow operators to focus on other key business activities while we take care of their component management requirements. We are delighted that Biman have joined the DCS Program, and we look forward to servicing them with a customized package for component support.”

Mr. Shafiul Azim, Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said: “We are excited to embark on this partnership with De Havilland Canada as the component maintenance support to our fleet of Dash 8-400 aircraft. With hubs across Bangladesh, in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet, it is important that we have access to the superior part availability and cost predictability that De Havilland Canada provides, so that we can focus on running our day-to-day operations efficiently.”

The DCS Program supports the operation of Dash 8-400 aircraft by ensuring cost-effective repair solutions and global accessibility to over a thousand different aircraft components positioned at strategically located distribution centres and at some customers’ operating hubs. The program, which is designed to meet the growing demand for customized repair solutions, accommodates each customer’s requirements and environment. With its low carbon footprint, low operating costs, industry-leading passenger experience, and jet-like performance, the Dash 8-400 aircraft, which seats up to 90 passengers, is the environmentally responsible choice for operators seeking optimal performance on regional routes. More than 160 Dash 8-400 aircraft are enrolled in the DCS Program.
