China Eastern Airlines (MU) flight MU5182 aborted takeoff at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) this morning after a loud bang was detected from the engine, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The Beijing-bound flight was performed by an Airbus A330-300 aircraft, Registration B-6085. It was scheduled to take off from Guangzhou at 11:40 a.m. and land at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) at 2:45 p.m.
The flight was canceled due to the mechanical issue and taxied back to stand 401 at Guangzhou airport.
