EgyptAir stopped mail and freight on its flights to the United States and the United Kingdom earlier this month, ch-aviation reports.

Only passenger luggage is being allowed on-board for flights to and from New York JFK and London Heathrow, with other freight being shipped by cargo aircraft.

This comes as security checks on freight and luggage are increased after the US Transportation Security Administration carried out inspections of Cairo International airport after the bombing of MetroJet flight 7K9268.

Many European carriers have imposed similar limitations on their flights out of Egypt.
