Azores Airlines has signed an interline ticketing agreement with the Spanish airline Euroairlines, which will allow it to expand its global reach and offering. Through this partnership, Azores Airlines will gain access to the travel agency ecosystem, OTAs, aggregators, and consolidators in over 60 countries via the IATA code Q4-291 held by Euroairlines.
Azores Airlines is a Portuguese airline, part of the SATA Group, based in Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, located in the autonomous Azores archipelago. It was founded with the goal of making the nine-island archipelago more accessible. The airline offers air connections for passenger, cargo, and mail transportation. SATA Azores Airlines currently connects the Azores archipelago with eight countries in Africa, Europe, and North America. Specifically, the airline flies to cities such as Milan, Paris, New York, Boston, and Toronto, among others. The Portuguese carrier operates a fleet that includes Airbus A320ceo, A320neo, Airbus A321neo, and Airbus A321LR aircraft, which feature both business and economy class seats.
Antonio López-Lázaro, CEO of Euroairlines Group commented: “Azores Airlines has become a leading airline in the North Atlantic region, and Euroairlines will provide additional distribution channels to further consolidate this positioning."
"The airline is experiencing notable growth, and currently, North America and the Atlantic axis are strategic areas for the Euroairlines Group” , adds Amanda Machado, Client Director of Euroairlines Group, recently joined after her time at Amadeus Brazil.
Sandro Raposo, Chief Commercial Officer of SATA Group, stated: “This strengthened partnership with Euroairlines will enhance the distribution capabilities of Azores Airlines by allowing us to access markets and customers that were previously unreachable We anticipate that this increased awareness of our airline's offering, which includes direct flights from major European cities to the Azores and convenient connections to North America, will drive further growth in passenger numbers.”
