AirVault today announced that Finnair has deployed AirVault Records Audit and Delivery (AVRAD®), a new cloud-based software service specifically designed for airlines to systematically manage the complex process of compiling records for an aircraft lease return. The web-based business process application, built on the industry leading AirVault Aircraft Maintenance platform, is designed for airlines to improve the speed and efficiency of managing electronic records for aircraft transfers including the lease return, sale, or parting out of aircraft.
Finnair Manager of Redelivery Projects, Heidi Heikkila stated, "The lessor got started with document inspection for returning two Airbus A340-300's with the AVRAD service and they love it. After only one hour of training, the inspectors already were fluent with the system. The new AVRAD service helps us efficiently manage and track the progress of interactive communication and remediation of the aircraft maintenance package approvals and quickly remediate discrepancies. AirVault's cloud-computing architecture offered Finnair the distinct advantage of a bi-directional communication conduit for complete visibility of both their internal and external leasing partner's activities in the aircraft transfer process. Further, AirVault's integration with our M&E System, AMOS, allows for more accurate data validations and transfers of additional maintenance data, providing a more complete aircraft maintenance record for our audits."
The AVRAD service applies a number of technologies including imaging, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), workflow, systems integration, data analytics, video, and social networking to help connect, organize, and manage access to aircraft maintenance records for the multiple parties – airline, lessor, buyer, consultants, MRO, and regulators – involved in an aircraft transfers. The software provides Finnair specific audit point templates to systematically assemble the required data and documentation for Airworthiness Directives (AD), Auxiliary Power Units (APU), Engines, Components, Certificates, and Repair Maps. Airframe, component, and assembly records are now quickly compiled and organized into packages for electronic transfer, completely configurable for their different lessor's file format requirements.
Compared to paper-based methods, AVRAD's electronic assembly, audit, and transfer of aircraft maintenance records can save thousands of labor hours and travel expense for the combined participants involved in an aircraft transfer. Packaging and shipping multiple pallets of paper file boxes are replaced by a secure digital, encrypted electronic file transfer. The final result is a system generated Package Completion Statement (AD Compliance) to complete the aircraft transfer process.
AirVault CEO, John Oldham, said, "Finnair's is continually expanding the use of AirVault technology to achieve greater operational performance. AirVault cloud-computing platform has proven to be a technology foundation for additional process management applications for aircraft maintenance industry, such as AVRAD. The global aviation industry trusts AirVault's proven-high performance infrastructure and software service delivery model to meet the performance requirements of this highly regulated industry's most-important documents."
AirVault is the leading web-based solution that enables aviation industry companies to manage aircraft fleet maintenance records across their entire community of business and regulatory partners.
