First millionth passenger

Russian Red Wings  airline got first millionth passenger transported during the year. Jubilee passenger became Tuleneva Olga from Moscow became the millionth passenger, she was registered for the flight 415 IN NO Moscow-Rostov-on-Don. Route innaguration was also also held November 16, 2015.

There was a special ceremony at the front desk in Moscow's Domodedovo airport to honor of the millionth passenger. Evgeny Klyucharev, CEO of Red Wings Airlines congratulated Olga Tuleneva and awarded a certificate for free flights. As a bonus, the first million passengers got upgrade from economy to business class.

"It is a significant day for Red Wings - the first time during our 17 years history we were able to overcome the barrier of one million passengers carried during the year. For us it is an important indicator of consistent and stable development as the result of our work started in the second half of 2014 .

Our main goal - to make flying with the Red Wings as convenient as possible for passengers. We strive to be flexible in offering our passengers a convenient schedule and some of the best fares in the segment, considering the needs of our passengers. The company plans to further expand the route network, opening new areas, increase in passenger traffic, "- says Evgeny Klyucharev .

As Evgeny Klyucharev noted,In 2016 Red Wings Airlines will another 5 of SSJ 100 added to its fleet.

He recalled that during MAKS Airshowwas signed a preliminary agreement with the State Transport Leasing Company was signed, conserning the aquisition of 15 plane Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ100) from 2015 to 2017. "We expect to receive these aircraft in 2016. However, everything depends also on various suppliers of components and assemblies, "- said the CEO of the airline.

Klyucharev also noted that at the moment the airline is negotiating with lessors to acquire 3 Tu-214 aircraft, operated previosly by "Transaero".

"Historically, it was our weak point – the competitiveness of russian aircraft, compared to Western. Last year the situation turned upside down just because our aircraft and the it’s economy  are both in the ruble zone. Not that it has become better, just everything else become worse. Therefore, our aircraft became more competitive. For us it is extremely positive, "- he explained.

Klyucharev said that Red Wings Airlines needs MS-21 aircraft and the carrier hopes to become one of the first customers of this type of aircraft.

"We work with manufacturing company on improving SSJ 100. Similar things were done regarding Tu-204SM in cooperation with " Tupolev ". The question is in readiness for the certification and the start of series production of the aircraft. We are waiting for  ", - he added.

Also Evgeny Klyucharev said that "airline is planning to certify its own engineering service for Tu-204 and possible exploitation of Tu-214. "when we will have 10 of SSJ100 aircraft in our fleet we will do the same, a certified enineering center for that type as well.".

Just to reming, at the moment Red Wings have 5 ​​of SSJ 100 and 8 of the Tu-204in the fleet.
