Hong Kong Airlines commemorated the launch of its four-times weekly direct service to Nagoya, Japan. This new service further enhances the airline's network coverage in Japan, offering additional travel options for passengers. To celebrate the official inauguration of this route, Hong Kong Airlines hosted events at both Hong Kong International Airport and Central Japan International Airport.

Mr Jeff Sun remarked: "Nagoya is a fascinating city, conveniently located near popular travel destinations in Central Japan (Chubu region). Its prime geographic location also offers easy connections to major cities in both the eastern and western regions, including Tokyo and Kansai. There's always a reason to visit Nagoya. We're incredibly thankful to add this enchanting city to our expanding route network in Japan, and we plan to gradually increase service between Hong Kong and Nagoya from the current four times a week to daily flights starting in August. This will strengthen the connection between these two vibrant cities.”

Mr Kazuaki Sakata stated: “Aichi Prefecture and the city of Nagoya are not only vital industrial hubs in Japan, with a strong focus on the automobile and manufacturing sectors, but they also offer visitors a captivating blend of picturesque mountains and serene waters. The launch of Hong Kong Airlines service enables closer connections between Hong Kong and Nagoya city, attracting both business travellers and adventure-seekers. We hope more passengers will choose Hong Kong Airlines to explore these enchanting destinations.”

Mr Jun Takeda said: “Following our government's easing of flight restriction last October, we have witnessed a steady resurgence in international flight operations, highlighted by the launch of Hong Kong Airlines’ service. Nagoya City is proactively investing in the development of upscale hotels to cater to the multifaceted lodging requirements of both domestic and international travellers. Through our unwavering dedication to enhancing the city's offerings and appeal, we are committed to make Nagoya the prime travel choice for overseas visitors, including those from Hong Kong.”

Mr Riki Inuzuka commented: "With the launch of Hong Kong Airlines’ service, the number of flights connecting Hong Kong and the Chubu region has increased to 21 flights per week, returning to the pre-pandemic levels. This represents a recovery of 60%. The Chubu region, reflecting the long and rich history of Japan, embodies the nation's essence with its stunning natural landscapes and a variety of traditional cuisines. We sincerely hope that more tourists from Hong Kong will visit the Chubu region, where Nagoya is located, and we look forward to welcoming more Hong Kong Airlines flights at Central Japan Airport."

Its operation to Japan includes four weekly flights to Nagoya, three daily flights to Tokyo (Narita)and Osaka, two daily flights to Okinawa, one daily flight to Fukuoka, and three weekly flights to Sapporo. It is expected that the number of weekly flights to Japan will be increased to 73 in mid-July, reaching 97% of pre-pandemic levels.
