A UPS McDonnell Douglas MD-11, registration N251UP performing flight 5X-213 from Louisville, KY (U.S.) to Cologne (Germany), was enroute at FL350 over the Atlantic Ocean nearing Ireland when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (CF6) down, descended the aircraft to FL330 and set course to divert to Shannon (Ireland), where the aircraft landed safely on runway 24.
