The Latvian airline airBaltic on May 28, 2016 launched a new route between Riga and Reykjavik, Iceland. Today on May 30, 2016 airBaltic invites everyone to celebrate the historic launch of the new Riga – Reykjavik route with a special live musical performance by Latvian contemporary musician Shipsea from one of Iceland’s nicest hangouts in Reykjavik KEX hostel on airBaltic Facebook page at 17:00 (Riga time): https://www.facebook.com/airBaltic
Latvian contemporary musician Jānis Šipkēvics (Shipsea): “In some magical way, Reykjavik has always opened up a new creative path for me. This is where new songs were composed, new friends and teachers were met. There is some inexplicable kinship between Latvia and the nature and people of Iceland – I haven't been able to profoundly understand or define it, but I feel that our completely different experiences are two sides of one whole, and that feeling makes me go back to Iceland and seek answers. I hope everybody has a chance to visit Iceland at least once."
