Royal Jordanian's Crown Lounge, at Queen Alia International Airport, was named the winner of the Africa & Middle East Lounge of the Year Award 2015, by Priority Pass, part of the Collinson Group.

This is the 11th year the prestigious Lounge of the Year Awards  have taken place; Priority Pass named just 17 winners from over 850 international lounges in the Priority Pass program, based on the voting of Priority Pass members. It recognizes the individual excellence and investment in customer experience within the Priority Pass programme. Members voted on a set of criteria covering overall lounge quality, including refreshments, staff, business facilities and ambience.

Over 100,000 votes were cast by Priority Pass members in this year’s Lounge of the Year Awards, the highest number since the awards began. The new Priority Pass app and website now make it even easier for members to rate lounges they are guests in.

RJ President/CEO Captain Suleiman Obeidat said that RJ aims to extend luxury and comfort to passengers not only on board but also on the ground, to ensure that their needs are fulfilled before embarking.

In addition to Priority Pass members and Crown Class passengers, RJ’s Royal Plus platinum and gold card holders, and oneworld’s top tiers frequent flyers, holders of specific credit cards and banks cards also have access to the lounge.  Moreover, several international carriers have agreements with RJ that give their customers the opportunity to enjoy the services of the Crown Lounge.

RJ’s Crown Lounge adds to the hospitality shown the airline's business class travelers and loyal frequent flyers by offering comfortable seating and furniture, quieter environments, wireless Internet services and other business services, along with provisions that enhance passenger wellbeing.

The 2,250-square-meter, terrace-like Crown Lounge at Queen Alia International Airport is designed to serve almost 350 passengers at a time.

Global marketing director at Priority Pass Stephen Simpson said: “The Crown Lounge at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport is this year’s well-deserved Africa & Middle East Lounge of the Year Winner. Voted for by Priority Pass Members, this is a clear reflection of exactly what frequent travelers expect to experience in a premium independent airport lounge — a modern and stylish space filled with natural light — the perfect place to recharge and revive.”
