MOSCOW, September 1. /TASS/. Army aviation helicopters from Russia’s Central Military District have delivered an air strike against a simulated enemy’s sabotage group in the Arctic, District spokesman Yaroslav Roshchupkin told TASS on Tuesday.
"Two Mil Mi-8 [NATO reporting name: Hip] military transport helicopters patrolling the designated area detected a sabotage group in off-road vehicles. The pilots launched aircraft rockets, hitting the targets imitating the armor", he said.
After that, a tactical grouping of up to a hundred paratroopers was air-dropped to complete the enemy’s rout, the spokesman said, adding the exercise had been held on the Taimyr Peninsula in the Russian Arctic.
