A Boeing 737-400 aircraft operated by Pakistani carrier Shaheen Air International has suffered severe damage upon landing at Allama Iqbal International airport in Lahore.

Local media says the aircraft, registered AP-BJO, had operated flight NL142 from Karachi when its main landing gear failed upon landing.

Images on social media show the aircraft resting on grass, with at least one main landing gear bogie shorn off, the tires shredded. The rear emergency escape door is shown open with the emergency slide deployed. Damage to the right engine is also apparent.

More than 100 passengers were reportedly aboard the jet, with 10 passengers suffering from injuries.

Shaheen Air International was unable for comment when contacted by Flightglobal.

Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer shows that Shareen Airlines recieved the 1992-vintage aircraft in 2012. AP-BJO is owned by Windy City VII LLC and managed by AAR aircraft sales and leasing.

The carrier operates a fleet of four 737-400s, eight Airbus A320s and three A330s.

In July, Pakistan's civil aviation authority (CAA) grounded four of its aircraftdue to recurring safety concerns.
