Syphax Airlines is to resume operations after securing TND20 million (USD10.17 million) in recapitalisation funding, ch-aviation reports.

Hatem Chabchoub, CEO of Syphax, stated that flights would resume this week with service to Istanbul Atatürk and Jeddah.
Syphax founder Mohamed Frikha said the funds will be used to settle outstanding staff salaries and reimburse travellers whose flights were cancelled in July.
Frikha blames the airline’s financial issues on its perceived links with Tunisia’s Ennahda Islamist movement and the Libyan crisis wherein a large amount of its business originated from Libyan businessmen.
