The 28th FAI World Aerobatic Championship was held in France. Following the results of the competition, Russian pilot Mikhail Mamistov took the second place in the men’s overall standings, Svetlana Kapanina came in second in the women’s overall standings, press-service of Airport of Regions Holding Company reports.

“Gold medals were won by French pilots – Alexandre Orlowski and Aude Lemordant. The French pilots demonstrated the best pilotage in the sky above Châteauroux. Castor Fantoba (Spain) and Melissa Pemberton (USA) won bronze medals in men’s and women’s overall standings respectively. The team rankings were as follows: France – 1st, Russia – 2nd (Mikhail Mamistov, Svetlana Kapanina and Oleg Shpolyanski), USA – 3rd. Team Russia won a total of 7 medals - 3 silver ones and 4 bronze ones. Svetlana Kapanina won two silver medals and one bronze medal,” said in the statement.

We remind you that Airport of Regions and ROTEC Holding Company were partners of Svetlana in the network of this competition.

Svetlana Kapanina, the seven times all-round aerobatic champion, said: «I would like to admit that I haven’t seen so many visitors at the championship for a long time. The results of the competition show that aerobatics is popular in France and it is progressing. Our team did well, however, we expected better results. We will start preparation for European Championship soon (will be held in 2016). We’ll meet our rivals there again».
