IN 17 WEEKS: 21 AIRCRAFT ALLOCATIONS, 4 NEW DESTINATIONS, 700 ADDITIONAL WEEKLY DEPARTURES, 70 NEW ROUTES LAUNCHED

Wizz Air, one of Europe's fastest growing airlines and the largest low cost carrier in CEE, today starts the biggest operational ramp-up across its network in Wizz Air’s history. In the upcoming 17 weeks a total of 21 aircraft will be allocated to its European bases, supporting 700 additional weekly departures and the commencement of 70 new services. Four brand new destinations - Athens, Tallinn, Kharkiv, Vienna - will be inaugurated by mid-July, along with the opening of a new Western European base in the Austrian capital. The expansion of WIZZ in 2018 represents an investment of more than $ 2 billion at 11 bases in the UK, Austria, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania and Georgia.

Furthermore, WIZZ’s savvy customers are invited to celebrate this impressive expansion together with WIZZ’s enthusiastic crew onboard, as well as on social media channels, by following #WIZZaroundEurope. Passengers travelling on the first flights of the 21 new aircraft deployed will have the chance of winning WIZZ vouchers of 1000 EUR. Wizz Air begins its 2018 expansion in Budapest this week, with the arrival of an additional new Airbus A320, which will be the 11 aircraft based in Hungarian capital, coinciding with the launch of a new exciting route to Stavanger in Norway.
