Air China will start Chengdu-Paris nonstop service from December 12, 2015, which will make Paris the fifth European destination Air China serves from Chengdu after Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London and Moscow, and enable passengers from Chengdu to arrive in Paris within just around 11 hours.

A city synonymous with chic and romance, Paris never ceases to be a dream destination for travelers. Outbound tourist traffic from Sichuan has been increasing tremendously since 2014, and Chengdu has become China's fifth largest source of outbound travelers behind Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and Europe has become the second most popular destination behind other Asian regions for travelers in Sichuan. The Chengdu-Paris nonstop service will provide an additional option for travelers in the southwest China to Europe and will also give further impetus to the economic exchanges, industrial cooperation and tourism between Sichuan and the entire southwest China as a whole and Europe.

In the Spring/Autumn Schedule 2015, Air China's regional hub in Chengdu is connected with 71 cities, including 13 international and regional cities. Currently, Air China offers 110 international flights for passengers in Chengdu and the entire southwest China as a whole, with nonstop access to such metropolises as Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei, Seoul, Singapore, Colombo, Frankfurt and Paris, intending Chengdu to become a large air hub in China and the largest air hub in southwest China. The Chengdu-Paris flights will be a worthy addition to Air China's Chengdu-Frankfurt operations, and synergies will be formed between Chengdu and Air China's international hub in Beijing and international gateway in Shanghai. With the new service, Air China is in a better position to provide more travel products, tap into the travel markets of China and Europe and make it easier for passengers from Europe to connect to other Chinese cities.

Flights

The flights, CA457/8, are operated four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The outbound flight departs from Chengdu at 1:30 a.m. and arrives in Paris at 6:20 a.m. The return flight departs from Paris at 12:15 p.m. and arrives in Beijing at 6:00 a.m. the second day. The flights are to be operated with Airbus 330-200. Its Business Class seats can turn into full-flat beds, and all classes of service offer personal AVOD, keeping passengers entertained for the duration of the flight.
