The Latvian airline airBaltic today, on April 18, relaunches direct flights between Tallinn, Estonia and Vilnius, Lithuania, significantly strengthening its positions in the Baltic region. The 10-weekly service will help  consolidate the Baltic market and reinforce its connectivity with 60 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and the CIS.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “The opening of Vilnius-Tallinn route is a symbolic new beginning for airBaltic, as it marks the successful conclusion of our ReShape restructuring programme. Under the restructuring program, it was one of 14 profitable routes that we had to give up, and now we are relaunching it so that our Baltic customers benefit from convenient morning and evening departures, and considerably lower fares on the route. The route opens with simultaneous departures from Tallinn and Vilnius – in both capitals airBaltic serves a combination of direct flights and convenient transfers via our main hub in Riga to Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and the CIS. We will strengthen our service in Estonia and Lithuania by connecting the countries increasingly better as a part of our Horizon 2021 business plan.”

Starting today, April 18, 2016, airBaltic flies from Tallinn to Vilnius 10 times a week, twice a day, from Monday till Friday. Passengers will board a Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft for a flight that will last 1 hours and 20 minutes. One-way ticket prices will start at 29 EUR, including airport fees and transaction costs. A full schedule of airBaltic flights can be found on the company's homepage at www.airbaltic.com.

airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these locations, airBaltic offers convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, CIS and the Middle East. In addition, airBaltic also offers new direct flights from Tallinn and Vilnius.
