A three-car crash is causing delays for motorists heading to Auckland Airport.

A police spokesman said the crash on State Highway 20B between Puhinui Rd and Hape Dr happened about 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police received reports of the crash from people at the airport. Emergency services were on their way to the scene.

New Zealand Transport Agency warned motorists to avoid the area if possible by taking the alternate route on SH20A
