The Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) organized a cocktail reception for the celebration of the Macau International Airport (MIA)'s 20th anniversary on Dec. 2nd, 2015.

Vice Chairman of The National Committee of The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Mr. Ho Hau Wah, Acting Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region Ms. Chan Hoi Fan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR Mr. Yao Jian, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The People's Republic of China in The Macao SAR Mr. Ye Dabo, President of the Legislative Assembly of the Macao SAR Mr. Ho Iat Seng, Vice Chairperson of All-China General Chamber of Industry & Commerce and Founding Chairman of the Institute of Macao Civil Aviation Mr. Chui Sai Cheong, President of the General Assembly of CAM Mr. Charles Lo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CAM Mr. Ma Iao Hang, Chairman of the Executive Committee of CAM Dr. Deng Jun, and about 400 guests including: representatives from international civil aviation organizations/associations, leaders from the civil aviation industry of Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries, sister airports and local celebrities, gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of MIA.

Acting Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region Ms. Chan Hoi Fan stated in her speech that MIA as the fundamental and essential major transportation channel for Macao's international accessibility connecting to the world. The Macao SAR Government will continue to support the growth of civil aviation industry. Under the correct guidance of the National aviation strategy, MIA is expected to grasp the development opportunity by full utilization of self-advantage, in corporation with the Macau Light Rail Transit, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao bridge, and Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway to an efficient and rapid regional transportation system, for exploration of international market and play a more important role in promoting moderate and diversified economic development.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of CAM Mr. Ma Iao Hang noted in his welcome speech that the Vice President of the PRC Mr. Rong Yiren and His Excellency the President of Portugal Mr. Mário Soares came personally for the inauguration ceremony of MIA on 8th December 1995, fully embodied the friendship and cooperation between Mainland China and Portugal, which helped promoted the national strategy of  "the Belt & Road" and provided gained experience in strengthening international cooperation. After the formal operation of MIA, the "Indirect cross-strait flight with one aircraft" mode was soon realized, playing an irreplaceable role and indelible contribution in promoting direct cross strait flights. Over the 20 years of operation, MIA has been always adhering to the purpose of "Safety, Effectiveness, Efficiency" in operation and was recognized and affirmed by the SAR Government that CAM will be awarded the "Order of Merit in Traveling". This honor is attributed to the support of the general public, guidance of the SAR Government authorities, the wise guidelines of shareholders, and the dedicated professional services by the staff.
