Malindo Air today continues its international network expansion by launching 2016’s second new services, from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong. The new route will boost the airline’s presence in the robust Asia’s market.
The daily services to Hong Kong mark the 2nd Malindo Air’s destination in China after Sanya in Hainan Province.
Introductory fare for the new route, Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong starts from RM299 for Economy Class and RM669 for Business Class one way all inclusive.
All fares include perks such as free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment, a meal and light refreshments.
CEO of Malindo Air, Mr Chandran Rama Muthy said, “There will be an upsurge of arrivals expected from Hong Kong attributed by the new Malindo Air’s daily services between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. With 1,134 seats per week now available, this could amount to about 59,000 Chinese per year from Southern China taking advantage of the new flights to Kuala Lumpur.”
“Hong Kong is a very strategic tourist port, and our expansion to Hong Kong is another effort to further boost the Southern China’s outbound leisure and business travel to Malaysia. Tourist arrivals from China by the end of 2015 had shown a very positive result with 1.25 million visitors,” said Chandran.
Chandran also added that Hong Kong has always been a very popular holiday destination and a go-to holiday spot for travelers. With Malindo Air’s wide current network in India, we will provide seamless connectivity, and this will certainly benefit the country as we will enhance KLIA position as a strategic transit point for travelers from India to China via Hong Kong.
The narrow-body Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a seat capacity of 162, with 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats, will be deployed on the two services. The flight time between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong will take 3 hrs 55mins.
