Security experts at Moscow's Domodedovo airport have received and are currently testing gloves with integrated metal detectors, the airport's press service said in a statement Friday.
If there is a metal object, a built-in vibration sensor goes into alarm in less than 0.1 second.
In the near future, such metal detectors are expected to completely replace conventional manual metal detectors.
Domodedovo International Airport, located some 26 miles southeast from the capital's center, is the largest airport both in Russia and Eastern Europe in terms of passenger traffic. Over 33 million passengers use the airport annually.
