Munich Airport offers an excellent quality of connectivity and reaches 5th rank in the "Airport Industry Connectivity Report 2022" of the international airport association ACI referring to the selection of available destinations. The report is published annually and evaluates the scope and quality of potential connections of international airports. Compared to the previous year, Munich Airport was able to improve its position by seven ranks and now belongs to the world's best transfer airports with Amsterdam, Istanbul, Frankfurt and Paris (CDG) in terms of connection quality.

This encouraging development for Munich is primarily the result of the rapid relaunch of services at the Bavarian hub. As soon as the recovery phase began after the pandemic-related travel restrictions were lifted, the Lufthansa Group, together with its Star Alliance partners, decided to resume connections to the vast majority of destinations - albeit with lower frequencies - in order to ensure the greatest possible connectivity. "Connectivity is a key quality feature for any aviation hub. We are very pleased to be rated so highly in an international comparison with our current flight offering and appreciate to see strong demand and excellent load factors," comments Oliver Dersch, Senior Vice President Aviation at Munich Airport.
