Qatar Airways and Royal Air Maroc are set to further strengthen their recent business partnership with the launch of new code-share routes across Royal Air Maroc's extensive West African network, as well as on both airlines' routes between Qatar and Morocco from 20th August.

The new code-share agreement comes shortly after Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker and Royal Air Maroc Chairman and CEO, Mr. Driss Benhima, signed a joint business agreement at the recent Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, in the presence of international press and travel trade partners.

The joint business agreement benefits passengers by providing enhanced links between Qatar and Morocco, greater choice of flights and improved frequent flyer benefits.

The introduction of this new code-share partnership will allow passengers to purchase a single itinerary combining flights on both carriers’ global networks, affording them the ease of one-stop ticketing and baggage check-in from 20th August.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Al Baker, said: “The launch of this code-share agreement with Royal Air Maroc is great news for our business and leisure passengers who frequently travel on Qatar Airways, as they will be able to connect seamlessly onwards to almost 20 destinations across the West African region. Qatar Airways also looks forward to welcoming Royal Air Maroc’s passengers on our own service and sharing our award-winning service and hospitality.”

Passengers travelling to Casablanca on Qatar Airways will now be able to connect onto the West African cities of Cotonou (Benin), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Praia (Cape Verde), Brazzaville and Pointe Noire (Republic of Congo), Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire), Libreville (Gabon), Banjul (Gambia), Conakry (Guinea), Bissau (Guinea Bissau), Monrovia (Liberia), Bamako (Mali), Niamey (Niger), Lagos (Nigeria), Nouakchott (Mauritania), Freetown (Sierra Leone) and Lomé (Togo).

Within Morocco, passengers will also be able to travel onwards to the domestic cities of; Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Guelmime, Tan Tan, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Fes, Errachidia, Oujda, Nador, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Laayounte, Dakhla and Beni Mellal.

Royal Air Maroc will start operating three weekly flights with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Doha on 9th September 2015, complimenting Qatar Airways’ existing daily flights to Casablanca, which also operate with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Both airlines will code share on each other’s operations, giving passengers the flexibility of using a combination of flights from both airlines between Qatar and Morocco.
