RIX Ground Handling, the ground services provider at Riga Airport (RIX), has been awarded the ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations) certification by International Air Transport Association. This recognition confirms company’s compliance with the highest safety standards in areas such as baggage handling, passenger services, cargo loading and unloading, and other key ground operations.
Laila Odiņa, Chairperson of the Board of Riga Airport commented: “Every flight begins on the ground – during ground handling operations. While these activities often go unnoticed by passengers, they are absolutely critical to ensuring that each flight starts safely. We continue to improve the Airport’s internal processes to provide services that are as safe, efficient, high-quality, and environmentally friendly as possible – for both passengers and airlines.”

The main objective of ISAGO is to enhance the quality and safety of ground handling services at airports. It aims to reduce incidents and delays, standardise baggage handling procedures, improve the safe handling of cargo and mail, and ensure the secure movement of aircraft on the ground.
