KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will operate its Boeing 787-9 in a summer seasonal service from Amsterdam to San Francisco, starting from May 4.

The seasonal service will be in addition to KLM’s daily scheduled flight operated by 747-400s, and it will mark the first deployment of the Dutch carrier of its 787-9s on a route to the United States.

The new flight schedule will see flight KL609 leaving Schiphol at 12:40 on Wednesdays and Sundays, and landing at San Francisco at 14:45 local time. Return flight will be flight KL610 leaving San Francisco at 16:45 on Wednesdays and Sundays as well and arriving to Amsterdam at 12:15 the following day, local time.

In the other direction, flight KL610 will depart SFO at 4:45 p.m. On Wednesdays and Sundays from May 4 and will arrive at AMS at 12:15 p.m. the following day, local time.

Eric Caron, General Manager, Air France-KLM in the USA said the addition of this new Dreamliner service “reflects our commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences through innovative design to deliver more comfort and connectivity onboard a faster, more fuel-efficient plane.”

KLM introduced its first Dreamliner last November, and currently it serves Abu Dhabi, Chengdu, Delhi, Hangzhou, Muscat, Rio de Janeiro, Osaka and Xiamen with four Dreamlienrs in service out of an order for 11 jetliners plus six 787-10s.
