On 30th May 2018 Sino Jet Ltd., a leading business and general aviation (BA/GA) operator and part of the Sino Jet Group, announced a new strategic collaboration with Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. The news was announced at a signing ceremony at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) that was attended by Ms. Jenny Lau, Chairperson of the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) and President of the Sino Jet Group, Mr. Frank De, CEO of Sino Jet Hong Kong and Mr. Li Wei, Chairman of the Sichuan Airport Group Co., Ltd.

Sino Jet currently operates out of dual headquarters in Beijing and Hong Kong; however, the company is rapidly expanding its presence in Mainland China which now includes bases in: Shanghai; Shenzhen; Guangzhou; Xiamen; Zhuhai; and Chengdu. Ms. Jenny Lau said, “Until recently, the development of China’s BA/GA market has been largely focused in North China, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta areas. Despite growing market demand in the southwest of China, BA/GA facilities in the region are limited. We are confident that the strategic collaboration between Sino Jet and Chengdu Shuangliu Airport Air Ground Services Ltd. will play an important role in the development of the BA/GA industry in southwest China”.

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport Air Ground Services Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sichuan Airport Group Co., Ltd. It delivers most of the ground handling services at Chengdu Airport and is one of the largest and most advanced facilities in central and western China. Under the new agreement, Sino Jet’s operational capacity at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport will be greatly enhanced with new access to a range of local resources and services for its customer base. Mr. Li Wei, Chairman of the Sichuan Airport Group Co., Ltd. said, “We have closely observed the growth of the business aviation industry in recent years. Demand is strong, and we see Sino Jet leading and delivering remarkable services in this part of the region. We fully support Sino Jet and we look forward to working together advance the development of the industry in the southwest region of China.”

Mr. Frank De, CEO of Sino Jet Hong Kong, said: “Sino Jet will continue to take an innovative approach to meet the needs of the evolving market space. As part of this regional expansion, we actively seek investment opportunities in the Sichuan area. We look forward to our cooperation with Shuangliu Airport whereby initially, our work will focus on research and development of FBOs and other operating facilities to better meet the needs of the local market."
